Why Donor Organizing?
1. It’s the most impactful volunteer opportunity you can have.
Donor organizing is the highest impact volunteer opportunity for anyone who can raise $250 in an hour. This could be you!
In one hour you can send an email to 5 friends asking them to each donate $50, or spend 10 hours preparing to host a house party that raises $2,500.
Cold voter contact has high wrong contact rates and low response rates, especially with Covid-19 limiting canvassing and phone carriers adding further restrictions against phone and text banking. In contrast, people in your network already know and trust you.

2. This is not a common way for non-rich people to be reached out to, and it’s extremely effective because of this.
If you start donor organizing, more than $0 will be raised for the progressive causes you care about most. If you don’t, who will?
The biggest difference in impact is between doing nothing and something. Even a seemingly small amount raised can be more impactful than the equivalent time spent on other activities.
People in your network are feeling frustrated and anxious about our democracy without the tools they need to make an impact. You can provide relief for both you and them.
3. It’s flexible with your schedule and preferences.
You can schedule a coffee chat or happy hour with one friend. Send emails to a list of people you know. Host a gathering. Whatever fits into your already existing routine and availability.
